From 1098 to modern versions, the technical requirements for running a KO server differ from other MMOs.
MSSQL and Windows Server
The heart of a Knight Online server is the MSSQL database, which, unlike Linux-heavy game hosting, usually requires Windows Server. On a Verunix VDS you can install Windows Server and run MSSQL Express (enough for small to mid-sized servers) or the full edition. Because data integrity is critical in the character and item tables, we recommend configuring automatic backups to run at least twice a day.
