Metin2 servers work differently from typical game hosting: the multi-channel architecture and MySQL load need careful planning.
Multi-Channel Architecture
A Metin2 server is made up of several processes, the auth + db + game channels, and each channel uses its own CPU core. For a mid-sized server with 2-4 channels, plan for at least 4 cores, 1-1.5 GB RAM per channel and a separate 2-4 GB for MySQL. Because the item and player tables see heavy write traffic, NVMe storage is a necessity here, not a luxury: on traditional SATA disks, rollback and lag complaints are inevitable.
MySQL Optimization
As your player base grows, the most critical issue is MySQL optimization: query cache settings, proper indexing and regular table maintenance are the real fix for most "lag during war hour" problems.
